Condo Photos - Living Room
Above and below are photos of the south wall of the spacious living room.   Our unit is one of the rare
2-bed end-units at this resort, so we have an extensive set of windows lining the south wall of this very
large room.  This is wonderful for catching the Kona breezes, and allows us not to have to use the AC
during most of the year.  This room also has a new high powered Hunter ceiling fan, for additional cooling
and air circulation.

The entire furnishings of this room are new and were designed to complement a Hawaiian Tropical theme
which continues throughout the condo.  The living room furniture is high quality and very sturdy!  Also
new is the beautiful cherry wood laminate flooring, which continues through to the dining room.  Several
ornamental accent rugs complete the effect and provide a casual yet elegant appearance to this unit.
The large 3-section sofa is actually a queen size sleeper sofa which can be used to accommodate extra
guests.
Another photo of some of the living room furniture.  This is high quality, heavy  furniture, specially
ordered from California and designed to complement the pleasant, Hawaiian tropical theme that
characterizes our unit.  We chose simple tropical-designed, light colored wood and cane furniture for
our unit rather than dark colored wood and mainland-style furniture.  We prefer the high quality tropical
furnishings so vacationers can more easily immerse themselves in the Hawaiian spirit during their stay.
Besides, we also love the tropical look!
Below are photos of the north wall of the living room, showing more of the Hawaiian artwork and
tropical decorations.
The lovely cherry wood laminate flooring was installed in 2007.  After owning our unit for a few years,
and speaking with several residents on the island, we realized that wall-to-wall carpeting is not a good
idea in tropical climates like Hawaii.  The problem is the high humidity which promotes the growth of
molds and odors in the carpeting, which leads to an unhealthy indoor air quality.  So, for the benefit or
our guest's health (and ours!) we decided to replace all the carpeting in our unit with either ceramic tile
or wood laminate flooring.  It's easy to keep clean and guests with allergies don't have to worry about
carpet dust mites or mold spores.  It also looks much, much better than carpeting!!
