This photo was taken from the buffet area separating the kitchen from the dining room. The kitchens in
all the Phase I units at the Kona Coast Resort are identical in layout. These kitchens are wonderful and
larger than those in any other vacation rental condo in the Kona area. We are in the process of making
several improvements including new ceramic tile for the floor, a new 36 "ceramic cooktop (Frigidaire
Gallery Series), a new GE digital built-in oven/microwave combo unit, and an ultra-quiet Bosch
dishwasher (already installed).

The side-by-side refrigerator, while not our choice for color, is relatively new, so will not be replaced.
This refrigerator has a convenient in-door water and ice dispenser. The current flooring will be
replaced by large, light-colored ceramic tile.

The full size washer and dryer are located just to the right of the refrigerator, behind a pair of louvered
bi-fold closet doors. These are full size units and work fine, so will not be replaced. We like having
enough room in our condo to have full size appliances instead of the smaller "piggy back" or stacked
units that we see in many other vacation rental condos. These "piggy back" units are just too small to
be practical for doing laundry, and we're not sure why some other owners went with that option. It's
definitely not convenient for the guests because they end up spending a lot more time doing their
laundry!! For that reason we recommend only renting condos that have full size washers & dryers.

Kona-Keauhou area have inexpensive dishwashers, which tend to be very noisy. We decided to go with
a ultra-quiet (50 dB) Bosch dishwasher so guests can actually run the dishwasher anytime during the
day or night and not be bothered by the noise! The large opening above the counter/sink area is a nice
touch and gives the kitchen a very open, airy feel. We love the design of the kitchens at this resort - we
think the layout is better than that of every other vacation rental condo in the Kona area. Guests who
plan on cooking some of their meals during their stay will appreciate the spaciousness of this kitchen,
and the new, high quality appliances that we will soon have installed.
