Welcome to Paradise and our Kona Coast Resort Vacation Rental CondosThis site describes our two beautiful vacation rental condos, units 12-201 and 5-203, located at the Kona Coast Resort, one of the top rated condo resorts on the Big Island of Hawaii. We are fortunate to own two of the nicest condos at this resort and in the entire Kona-Keauhou area. Our 2-bed condo features year round ocean views and beautiful Kona sunsets from its expansive, ceramic-tiled lanai. Our 1-bed condo, completely renovated in 2010, is a delightful top floor unit with beautiful wood plank vaulted ceilings and features gorgeous views of the sun rising over the 16th fairway of the Kona Country Club golf course each morning. Both of our Kona Coast Resort condos offer significant advantages over the vast majority of vacation rental units in the Kona-Keauhou area, yet are available at rates similar to those of average condos. Following are a few reasons why our condos are so special.* Our condos are part of the Kona Coast Resort, a 5 star Gold Crown full-service resort. * Each condo is equipped with an efficient, quiet central AC unit, at no additional charge.* Both units are 100% carpet -free! All flooring is either ceramic tile or wood laminate.* We offer great amenities like high quality appliances and furnishings, free WiFi, and free use of beach chairs, beach umbrella, boogie boards, coolers and many other items.* Maintenance and condition of our units is excellent. Why? We vacation there twice a year and we're very meticulous owners!Photos, Photos, and more Photos! If you're like us, a photo really is worth a thousand words. Before we purchased our Hawaiian homes we struggled to find acceptable rental condos for our own Hawaiin vacations. Condo owners do not include many photos of their units on their websites. So, to put your mind at ease, we've included over 170 recent photos of our two condos and the resort on this website. You'll be able to see every square foot of the interior of our condos as well as many photos of the exterior. Click the "One Bedroom" or "Two Bedroom" links in the menu bar at the top of this page to see photos of our Kona Coast Resort condos. Contact InformationJaci and I enjoy getting to know our guests and sharing information and experiences about the Kona area and the Big island of Hawaii. We've been vacationing on this island since 1990, so we might be able to answer many of the questions you might have about this beautiful island. Please click on the "About Us" link above for more information about the owners.Tom SavinoPhone, Home: 248-982-1042 (EST)Phone, Mobile: 248-921-4904 (EST)savinojt_gmail.com

These photos show the pathway from the parking lot to the front door of our condo. Since our unit is a top floor (2nd floor) unit, one must walk up a flight of stairs to get to the front door. It's a little bit of an effort but well worth it to have a top floor condo. The views from our lanai are much better than those in first floor units.

The Big Island is a wonderful place to live or vacation. It is larger than all of the other Hawaiian island combined, and it has the most diverse climate and the widest assortment of natural attractions. Following are some of our favorite websites for learning more about the Big Island and the Kona-Keauhou area.
- An online version of a popular magazine that is available for free at airports on the BI. Its value is in its timeliness. It is updated often, so it's the best place to find the current phone numbers for just about every attraction and activity offered on the island.
Bullet
- An informative online guide to The Big Island of Hawaii, courtesy of the Big Island Visitors Bureau.
Bullet
- This is the website for "Wizard Publications", publishers of the best travel guide to the BI: "The Big Island Revealed". A "must have" for anyone visiting the BI.
Bullet
- This is the single best website for learning about the Big Island (BI). Check out the "Visiting the BI" forum. Culture, history, art, music, as well as the usual travel information.
Bullet
- Another useful site. This site contains photos and descriptions of just about every beach that you'll find on the Big Island. (Hapuna is our favorite)
Bullet
- This site contains excellent descriptions and directions to the best diving & snorkeling sites on the Big Island.
Bullet
- A good link for locating information on all the golf courses available on the Big Island.
Bullet
- This USGS site contains the daily updates on the volcanic activity in Volcanoes National park, including the Kilauea and Mauna Loa volcanoes.
Bullet
- This site describes the attractions, shopping, and accomodations available in the Keauhou area, which is where our condos are located. Golf, historical sites, tours, etc.
Bullet
- The Keauhou Shopping Village website. This wonderful upscale shopping area is located just a short walk uphill from our condo. Restaurants, movie theater, coffee shops, etc.

Information about the Owners of Kona Coast Resort Condos 12-201 & 5-203Jaci and I live in southeast Michigan and are both employed as scientists. Jaci works as a biologist and I work as a chemist. We fell in love with the Hawaiin islands after our first visit in 1984, and visited each island numerous times before deciding that the Big Island was our favorite. We purchased our first Kona Coast Resort condo in 2002, and used it for our frequent family vacations to the Big Island of Hawaii. This spacious 2-bed condo, unit 12-201, is also our future retirement home. In the meantime, our Hawaiian home is available for rent as a vacation rental condo. We have had many wonderful guests over the years and many of these guests have become repeat guests - they stay at our condo whenever they visit the Big Island. We have been fortunate in that our guests have treated our home with care and respect, as they would their own home. Why our Condos are Special - it's not just a BusinessThe monthly operating cost for our 2-bed condo is quite high, and includes association fees, insurance, utilities, advertising fees, maintenance and the costs of making continual upgrades. Rental income covers our operating costs but does not cover our monthly mortgage/tax payments. We choose to use all profits from rental income (after covering our operating costs) to make upgrades to our unit, rather than trying to offset our mortgage payments. This may not make good business sense, but our major goal is not to maximize profits from our condos, but rather to keep them in excellent condition. This may explain the very positive feedback we receive from repeat guests - they know that everything in our condo works, that appliances will be replaced before they fail, and that we are constantly making improvements. In February, 2010, we purchased a second Kona Coast Resort condo, unit 5-203, a lovely top floor 1-bedroom condo with beautiful vaulted wood beam ceilings and great views of the Kona Country Club golf course and the sun rising over the mountains each morning. This condo, completely renovated in 2010, is in fantastic condition. Our Property Management Company and Advertising As required by Hawaii law, we contracted a Hawaiian management company, Kona Rentals (KR), to manage our property in our absence. KR manages over 100 vacation rental properties on the Big Island. They advertise separately from us and achieve several bookings for our condo each year, but we also have separate listings in websites like www.vrbo.com and www.vacationrentals.com. Why We Created this WebsiteWe created this website to help prospective vacationers decide whether to stay at our condo during their next visit to the Big Island. There are many vacation rental condos available in the Kona area. Some are good and some not so good. We believe that our two Kona Coast resort condos, 12-201 and 5-203, offer significant advantages over the majority of vacation rental units in the Kona area. One key purpose of this website is the make those advantages clear to prospective guests. If, after viewing this site you have additional questions about our lovely Hawaiian homes, please feel free to contact us anytime. We'd love to hear from you!Mahalo, and alohaTom SavinoPhone, Home: 248-982-1042 (EST)Phone, Mobile: 248-921-4904 (EST)savinojt_gmail.com
